Gaza.
desert.It is probable, that we should refer [eremos ,] desert, not to Gaza, but to [hodos ,] the way; though Gaza was situated at the entrance of the desert, and the ancient city was in ruins, being destroyed by Alexander.
 Philip, who presents the character of prompt unquestioning obedience in simplicity of heart, is called to leave his prosperous work with which all his personal importance (if he had been seeking it) was connected, and in which he was surrounded with respect and affection. (Acts 8 by J.N. Darby)
