Boyd’s Bible Dictionary:

(adamant). Pure crystallized carbon. Third stone in second row of high-priest’s breastplate (Ex. 28:18¹⁸And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond. (Exodus 28:18); Ezek. 28:13¹³Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. (Ezekiel 28:13)).

“Briers” From Concise Bible Dictionary:

Six different Hebrew words are so translated, several of which cannot be particularized. It shows how abundant are the fruits of the curse pronounced in Eden because of the sin of man, but which will be removed in the millennium, when the myrtle, etc., will take its place (Judg. 8:7, 16⁷And Gideon said, Therefore when the Lord hath delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into mine hand, then I will tear your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers. (Judges 8:7)
¹⁶And he took the elders of the city, and thorns of the wilderness and briers, and with them he taught the men of Succoth. (Judges 8:16); Isa. 5:6⁶And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it. (Isaiah 5:6); Isa. 55:13¹³Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off. “Diamond” From Concise Bible Dictionary:

The Hebrew word in Exodus 28:18¹⁸And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond. (Exodus 28:18); Exodus 39:11¹¹And the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond. (Exodus 39:11) and Ezekiel 28:13¹³Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. (Ezekiel 28:13), is yahalom. It occurs only in these places, and cannot be identified: it is generally held not to be what is now known as the diamond. In Jeremiah 17:1 The word is shamir. This is translated “adamant” in Ezekiel 3:9⁹As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. (Ezekiel 3:9). It is thought to be the corundum, a very hard stone, but being of different hues it has now various names.
