The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.1 – Your Father which is in heaven: … maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.2

Be ye … followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savor.3 – Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.4 – Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.5 – The love of Christ constraineth us.6

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. … Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?1

Toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be. And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat.1

Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?1

Jesus, … saw two brethren, … casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me.2 – Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.3

My speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.4

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit.5 – He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.6 – We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God.7

Who in the days of his flesh … offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death.1

Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord.2 – Continuing instant in prayer.3 – Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication.4 – By prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. When ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.1

They … called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us.2

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.1

Let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me.2 – Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace.3
