So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.1
Behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.2 – Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.3
Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world. … At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge. Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me.4 – When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.5 – Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.6 – I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore.7 – I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.8 – My peace I give unto you.9

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead.1
The promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.2
The just shall live by faith.3 – Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised).4 – Our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.5 – With God nothing shall be impossible. … And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.6

Thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.1 – Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. … I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.2 – To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.3 – I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Savior: … I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no savior.4
As he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.5 – Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?6 – Ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.7 – Can two walk together, except they be agreed?8

Just Lot … that righteous man.1
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.2 – Remember Lot’s wife.3
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? … Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing.4 – Be not ye … partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: … proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.5

The end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.1 – Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.2 – Take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life.3 – The just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.4
What I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.5
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. … I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand.6

This … is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.1 – God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God.2 – The Word was God. … In him was life; and the life was the light of men.3 – If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.4
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.5 – Ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.6
Ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.7 – Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.8

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.1 – Saved by his life.2
Our Savior Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.3 – As he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.4
The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, … hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.5 – In him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him.6 – Of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.7
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?8

Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed. My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O Lord, how long? Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.1 – My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me. And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest.2
Ye have need of patience.3
While they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.4 – Our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.5 – That blessed hope, … the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.6

Ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.1 – Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree.2
He hath made us accepted in the beloved.3
As lively stones, … built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.4 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.5
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever.6

My days are swifter than a post: they flee away, they see no good. They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that hasteth to the prey.1 – Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.2 – Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down.3
The world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.4 – They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.5 – Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.6
