He shall choose our inheritance for us.1 – He led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: so the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.2
I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.3 – Who teacheth like Him?4
We walk by faith, not by sight.5 – Here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.6 – Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul.7 – Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.8

He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.1 – He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.2
He which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.3 – Hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. … Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.4 – We know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.5
You hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.6 – Quickened … together with Christ.7 – Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.8

It is the Lord: let him do what seemeth him good.1 – Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.2 – The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.3 – What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?4
Jesus wept.5 – A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief.6 – Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows.7
Whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. … Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.8 – Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness.9 – In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.10

Of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. … And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.1 – The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.2 – The coming of the Lord draweth nigh. … The judge standeth before the door.3 – Surely I come quickly.4
Seeing … that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness.5
The end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.6 – Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; and ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.7

He was numbered with the transgressors.1 – Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many.2 – Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.3 – By one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.4
This man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.5 – While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.6
Forasmuch … as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.7

Much every way.1 – Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart.2 – If … their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember.3
Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.4 – In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ.5 – You, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses.6
Put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and … put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness.7

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief.1 – In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.2
Such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners.3 – That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation.4
Jesus of Nazareth … went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.5 – As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.6
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.7 – Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. … Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.8

Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?1 – Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.2 – Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy.3 – Hallowed be thy name.4
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people.5
Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.6 – I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.7
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, … be glory.8

The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.1 – Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.2 – The Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.3
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.4 – Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm.5 – The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.6
I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.7

I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying, The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.1
O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us. … Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name’s sake.2 – O Lord, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name’s sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.3 – We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers: for we have sinned against thee.4
If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.5
