God loves any, each, and every Mormon just as He loves you. That is why this simple piece of paper exists. God’s Word, the Bible, tells us “God is Love.” Because He is what He is, God loves all men, and He is good to all men; and He deeply desires to be trusted and to be known by all men. He has already identified you as a distinct object of His amazing infinite love. Consider these wonderful statements from His Word:
“God is love.” 1 John 4:16.
“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:3-4.
“The Lord is . . . not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
“There is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:22-23
God is great! He forgives both the best and the worst of sinners. Every sin is first and foremost an offense against God. Only He can forgive our sins, and only He could provide the means of the cleansing and the forgiveness which we have so desperately needed:
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:16-18.
God sent His Son to die on the cross of Calvary. While on that cross, and facing those who had hated Him and had crucified Him, Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34. What was God’s absolutely amazing response? “Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this Man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins. And by Him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.” Acts 13:38-39.
But God’s Word also tells us that “God is light.” 1 John 1:5. Because God is both holy and righteous, He cannot simply ignore or overlook sin, but also because He is both holy and righteous, He has provided a holy and righteous way to put away our guilt:
“God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. . . . For He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteous-ness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:19-21.
Because of Who He is and because of Who Jesus is—because of His own perfect and unchangeable character and because of the perfect work of the perfect Savior on the cross, and because of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, God now freely offers guaranteed hope (assured expectation) to any and all who will trust Him and receive it from Him.
“. . . that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
“In hope [assured expectation] of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.” Titus 1:2
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
Nowhere else may you find such love, such forgiveness, such hope, and such security as this! God deserves that you should trust Him. Jesus deserves that you should trust Him. Jesus Himself said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” John 14:6
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
Now, what are you going to do with such a beautiful salvation, such a rich gift, such a great God, such an amazing love, and such a wonderful Savior? This offer deserves your urgent attention and grateful and prompt acceptance. People sometimes speak of “the opportunity of a lifetime.”
This is the opportunity of eternity.
“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” 1 Timothy 1:15.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” Acts 16:31.
