• In the presence of abounding evil and the judgments of God they may only be conscious of their leanness. Thus indeed it ever is and must be with God’s true servants. It is the false who speak of their fatness, as “rich and increased with goods”. God may empower His servants by His Spirit, but they are conscious of nothing but leanness in themselves.
