Ruhamah

Boyd’s Bible Dictionary:

Concise Bible Dictionary:

In the prophet Hosea they were to say to their sisters in Israel, Ruhamah, “having obtained mercy,” as in the margin. Hosea had in Hosea 1 called his daughter symbolically Lo-ruhamah, “not having obtained mercy,” to signify the state of Israel; but in Hosea 1:1111Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel. (Hosea 1:11) he speaks of restoration, so that Ruhamah apparently refers to the remnant, those who entered into the spirit and mind of the prophet, and in that sense were his “sisters” (Hos. 2:11Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ru-hamah. (Hosea 2:1); compare Matt. 12:5050For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. (Matthew 12:50)).
