Thou hast laid Me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.
Jesus had a real struggle in the face of Calvary. But His deepest hour of need was when God turned His back for three hours. In total, unnatural darkness - for it was the middle of the day - Jesus suffered untold agony at the hand of God as He willingly bore our sins and was punished for them. He really felt that He was in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps. What a Savior we have. Let’s thank Him today for what He has done for us.
