This is the ninth time this expression appears in this form in our English King James Bible. Here are seven reasons to “Rejoice in the Lord” today: He loves us. “I have loved you” (John 15:12). He died for us. “Christ died for the ungodly” (Romans 5:6). He shed His blood to wash our sins away. “One of the soldiers with a spear pierced His side, and forthwith came there out blood and water” (John 19:34). He rose from the dead: “The Lord is risen indeed” (Luke 24:34). He is gone back to heaven as a man. “This man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God” (Hebrews 10:12). He is living for us. “Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25). He is coming again. “I will come again, and receive you unto Myself” (John 14:3).
