“The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them” (Psalm 34:7).
Have you ever been afraid? I don’t just mean things like being afraid that you might not pass your driver’s examination! Rather, I am thinking about a deep fear you may have of something that might happen to you. Even those of us who are older have fears, and sometimes even scary dreams at night. Sometimes terrible things happen, perhaps even to people we know.
But this verse is so wonderful, and gives us such peace. If we have the Lord “encamping” around us to deliver us, how could we be safer? He will not allow anything to happen in our lives that is not in His plan of love for us. To learn to trust Him even when we are young is a great cornerstone in our Christian lives.
