 He pronounces a solemn anathema on everyone who loved not the Lord Jesus. There might be such, but he would in no way recognize them. (1 Corinthians 16 by J.N. Darby)
 It is to be doubted indeed whether love can be unfeigned without abhorring evil; and what evil can compare with bearing the name of the Lord without real attachment to Him?  “Anathema Maranatha” means to be accursed when the Lord comes. He has alluded in various places in the epistle that there was a strong likelihood that there were some among them who were mere professors. (Closing Exhortations by B. Anstey)
