• {all the saints} We are all apt to form a circle, even among the saints of God—to have those that we prefer, those that suit us best, whose thoughts, feelings, habits, are more or less the same as our own, or, at least, are no great trial to us. Three of the primary MSS. omit "the love," an omission obviously accounted for by one of the most frequent causes of various readings, "homaeoteleuton" the repetition of words that are close together. The omission, to my mind, gives us no sense.
