"If thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light." It is never so, if we look not to Christ where God is now pointing us. In His light we see light. Failure here exposes the Christian now as then to become a person having need of milk, and not of solid food, of fare for babes, rather than for adults (Hebrews 5:11-14 by W. Kelly)
This infancy was the soul’s condition under the ordinances and requirements of the law (compare Galatians 4:1-7). (Hebrews 5 by J.N. Darby)
The Apostle does not at all slight the use of milk; but he says, If milk is the proper diet, it is a clear proof that the soul is spiritually a babe, needing to be established in the righteousness of God. (The Spiritual Condition of the Hebrew Believers: Hebrews 5:11-6:3 by H. Smith)
