 21I find then the law upon *me* who will to practise what is right, that with *me* evil is there.
 22For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man:
 23but I see another law in my members, warring in opposition to the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which exists in my members.
 24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me out of this body of death?
 25I thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then *I* *myself* with the mind serve God's law; but with the flesh sin's law. (Rom. 7:14‑25)

• They had sold themselves by their idolatry and sin, and gained nothing by it. Now they are to know redemption, but not by a money payment, as was customary in the days of slavery. The price of their redemption is unfolded when we come to chapter 53. (“Isaiah 52” by F.B. Hole)
