Grace alone will lead to submission. The sense of the grace and goodness of God will give such confidence in God that the soul will gladly give up its own will and submit to God. (The Evil of the Flesh: James 3-4 by H. Smith)
If, however, his temptations are met by the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, his wiles will be detected and he will not be able to stand against the grace of the Spirit that dwells in us. The Lord has triumphed over Satan and, in His grace, we can so resist the devil that he has to flee. (The Evil of the Flesh: James 3-4 by H. Smith)
If we are marked by humility we shall have no difficulty in submitting to God, and as we submit to God we shall be enabled to resist the devil. (James 3 by F.B. Hole)

J. N. Darby Translation

7
Subjecta yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

JND Translation Notes

a
"Have it done," not "be doing it"; the aorist tense. All the imperatives (ten) from vers. 7 to 10 are in the aorist.

W. Kelly Translation

+
7
Submita yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

WK Translation Notes

It is of interest to notice the aorist verb tenses in verses 7-10, as compared with the presents in 2-6 (excepting of course God’s gift of the Spirit), which difference it is difficult to express in English.
