GEN 37:15-16
15
And a certain man found him, and, behold, he was wandering in the field: and the man asked him, saying, What seekest thou?
16
And he said, I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they feed their flocks. (Genesis 37:15‑16)
What seekest thou?. . . I seek my brethren.
Genesis 37:15-16
15
And a certain man found him, and, behold, he was wandering in the field: and the man asked him, saying, What seekest thou?
16
And he said, I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they feed their flocks. (Genesis 37:15‑16)
When Jesus came, His purpose was to present Himself as the long-sought-for Messiah. If anyone had asked Him the question that was asked of Joseph, the Lord would have responded in the same way. In fact, on one occasion the Lord said of Himself, “The Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Joseph’s first problem was that his brothers weren’t in the place where he expected to find them and he had to go looking for them.
