Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth.
Sometimes we can get so mad at someone that we either wish something bad would happen to them or we are glad when it does, and we say, “It serves them right.” But this is not God’s way. We should feel sorry for them instead. When the soldiers had nailed Jesus to the cross and mocked and jeered, Jesus said, “Father, forgive them.” Revenge is not ours to give - that belongs to God. So we need to be compassionate to all around, including those who have wronged us.
