 Murmuring and complaining characterized Israel, and especially the mixed multitude in the wilderness (see Exo. 16:17; Num. 11:14. 16.16. 17; 1 Cor. 10:10), and on this account, as drawing our attention to the parallel, the words are doubtless here used.
