Verily.
washed.
The ungodly prosper in the world. What a riddle! Where is God's government? What is the use of good? No doubt it was more directly trying where temporal blessings had been made a sign of divine favor. But Christians are seldom separated enough from this world not to feel the success of wickedness, and a desire to take vengeance on it. (Practical Reflections on the Psalms: Psalms 64-77 by J.N. Darby)
{v.13-14} The soul is tempted to think that it is useless to have cleansed his heart and washed his hands. What benefit is there in having a pure heart and clean hands, if one is plagued all the day and chastened every morning, while those who are wicked prosper? (Psalms 73 by H. Smith)
The remnant complain of their lot. They have sought to be upright before God but apparently it has not brought them good. They are reproached and persecuted (vs. 13-16). (Book 3. by B. Anstey)
