Ye were . . . redeemed . . . with the precious blood of Christ.
Our redemption was not easy, nor was it cheap. The agony of the cross was very intense and Jesus suffered tremendous mental anguish in anticipation of it. God’s sacrifice was incredibly expensive. It cost Him His only Son. He punished the Lord Jesus for every one of our sins. Immense sacrifice - immense suffering.
