And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
Peter, James, and John had just heard the voice of God from heaven, and they fell down afraid. The next thing they sensed was the touch of the Lord’s hand, and His gentle, loving voice, “Don’t be afraid.” What a calm there is in our hearts if we let Jesus share in our fears and troubles. He alone can bring peace.
