There is a reward of eternal life to those who, while waiting for the Lord to come, spend their time and energy in serving Christ by doing good to others. Christianity is not self-seeking. In other words, we don’t spend all our energy pleasing ourselves. But the love of Christ in our hearts makes us want to reach out to others in their needs. This is one aspect of Christian service.
