Pure

“Thy word is very pure” (Psalm 119:140).
“Every word of God is pure” (Proverbs 30:5).

As we noted yesterday, we like things that are, as far as we can tell, pure. But even with strict government controls, enforcement agencies, and stringent labeling there is never any real solid guarantee that what we are getting is altogether pure. In fact we are rather gullible if we believe everything that package labels state.

However, both David and Solomon affirm the absolute purity of the Word of God. It is not just pure, but it is “very”pure! Not only is some of it pure, but “every word” is pure. Yes, the water of the Word is forever uncontaminated and we are told, “O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved” (Song of Solomon 5:1).

Take a good long drink of the Word of God today. It will refresh and quench your spiritual thirst, and satisfy you like nothing else. The Lord says, “I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely” (Revelation 21:6).
