(1) Father of Jashobeam, captain of first course for the first month of David’s guard (1 Chron. 27:2²Over the first course for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel: and in his course were twenty and four thousand. (1 Chronicles 27:2)). (2) Overseer of a returned troop of captives (Neh. 11:14¹⁴And their brethren, mighty men of valor, an hundred twenty and eight: and their overseer was Zabdiel, the son of one of the great men.
