The text and translation is encumbered in the T. R. and KJV, where there ought to be nothing about "and that ye may believe."

The reader has a close rendering of the best text ascertainable of what the apostle here wrote. In the T. R. and KJV it is deplorably confused and even misleading. Here it is as simple as it is important, so that any Christian reader can see the bare comparison of the two. The Revisers give what is substantially correct.
