• Jehonadab the son of Rechab’s manner of acting brings out the character of this man of God. Jehu had confided his plan to him; he accompanied Jehu, but did not appear (2 Kings 10:23) except to verify that no servant of the Lord was confounded with the servants of Baal. Is not this a beautiful role, similar to that of Jeremiah: “If thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth” (Jer. 15:19)? (“Jehu (Continued): 2 Kings 10” by H.L. Rossier)

And Jehu and Jehonadab the son of Rechab entered into the house of Baal, and said to the servants of Baal, Search, and see that there be here with you none of the servants of Jehovah, but the servants of Baal only.
