EZR 9:13
13
And after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such deliverance as this; (Ezra 9:13)
Our evil deeds, and . . . our great trespass, seeing that Thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve.
Ezra 9:13
13
And after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such deliverance as this; (Ezra 9:13)
Ezra recognized the extreme kindness of God in not punishing unduly. Ezra also recognized the fact that, as a nation, Israel hadn’t come up to God’s standard. In fact, they were great sinners. When we come to the point that we see ourselves as great sinners, God can and will bless. He wants us to confess to Him. He will take care of the rest.
