If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
The Lord had just finished giving His disciples a lesson in service. He had just washed their feet with water in a basin. Feet-washing was customary in Bible times, but there was a spiritual lesson that the Lord wanted His disciples (and us) to learn, that is, that we need to wash each other’s feet in a spiritual sense. We pick up defilement from living in this world. The application of the Scriptures washes us clean. To do this service for the saints of God is a happy work and one that we can all do.
