Fear

And David was afraid of God that day.
David had just seen the holiness of God come into action when an unauthorized Israelite reached out and touched the ark of God. God struck him down, immediately. That frightened David. But God had a lesson in the death of Uzza that David had to learn. Later David retrieved the ark in the God-appointed way. In the letter to the Hebrews in the New Testament the writer says that “God is a consuming fire.” And, “it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” If you have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ, though, there is no fear in approaching God. Trust in Jesus today, if you have not already done so.
