 The great point that he is establishing here is that death ends the rule of law; the bond involved in that legal relationship is broken when death comes in. (The Believer's Identification With the Death of Christ: Romans 6-7:1-6 by B. Anstey)
 "Married to another...." This is mentioned three times in this passage, but the word "married" is not really in the Greek text. It should read, "Belong to another" (W. Kelly Trans.). This is because our relationship to Christ presently is that of one espoused to a husband; we are waiting for the marriage that will take place in the future (Rev. 19:7-10).
