Serve the Lord with gladness.
This verse is talking about serving the Lord in praise, but we can take it also to refer to everyday service for the Lord Jesus. He wants us to do it gladly. We are to be happy in our work for Him. He gave His life willingly for us on the cross of Calvary. The least we can do is to return His love in happy service. Serving the Lord is a happy thing to do. I’ve never met anyone yet who was miserable and complaining when they were working for the Master from their heart. Martha, a friend of the Lord Jesus, complained when she was serving Him because her sister was sitting listening to the Lord talking. How much better to enjoy where God has placed us and be glad in the work He has given us to do.
