Wounded

ZEC 13:6⁶And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. (Zechariah 13:6) JOH 20:27²⁷Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. (John 20:27)

What are these wounds?

Zechariah 13:6⁶And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. (Zechariah 13:6)

Reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into My side.

John 20:27²⁷Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. (John 20:27)

They pierced the side of Jesus on the cross. For eternity we shall gaze on His wounded side. Out of that open side came the precious blood that cleanses from all sin. In that wounded side I’m reminded of the vicious hatred of men. From that wound I see the victorious love of God. Inside that wound I find the heart of Jesus that was broken by reproach. Through that wounded side I now draw near to God, my Father. Out of that opened side the Father is preparing a companion for His Son forever. What do you think of Him?
