This term is used in scripture in the sense of “change of place or status.” Abner threatened to translate the kingdom from the house of Saul to David (2 Sam. 3:1010To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beer-sheba. (2 Samuel 3:10)). The believer is delivered from the power of darkness and is translated into the kingdom of God’s dear Son (Col. 1:1313Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: (Colossians 1:13)). Enoch was translated without dying (Heb. 11:55By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
