What About You?
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,
should shine unto them” (2 Corinthians 4:4).
We have had some brief accounts of the sacrifice and suffering of Adoniram Judson in his quest to take the gospel to those who had never heard it before. We shake our heads at the treatment he received, the darkness of heathendom, and deplorable life of those who live in such conditions. But what about you? What have you done with the gospel? Most of my readers live in lands where the light of Christianity has shone brightly for many years. It is not so much a question of whether others are receiving the message of salvation, but a question of whether you have received it. You are far more responsible than those who have never heard. The cities where the Lord performed His greatest miracles were the most responsible, and He said of them, “Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes” (Matthew 11:21).
