Made Whole

“Wilt thou be made whole?” (John 5:6)

Was there any other answer to this question than YES? Yet, there are those who are offered greater healing than just to be cured from an infirmity of 38 years, and they say, “No.”

This poor sinner, waiting hopelessly and helplessly by the Pool of Bethesda, was asked this question by the Lord Jesus Christ. The healing that followed illustrates a deeper spiritual need that only the gospel of salvation can meet. As sinners we are spiritually dead and lost, and “without strength” (Romans 5:6). Only saving grace can remedy this disease of sin. This type of “wholeness” is a divine work in the soul. It is based solely on the merits of the atoning death, blood, and glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is the only Saviour of sinners.

“Jesus…said…They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick” (Luke 5:31). He says to you, “I am the Lord that healeth Thee” (Exodus 15:26). Say yes to Him now; He will indeed make you whole!
