Lost And Found
Are you lost or found? It’s one or the other!
The Lord Jesus told a story, called a parable, of a lost sheep and a shepherd that went out and searched for it until he had found it. Here is the story as recorded by the Spirit of God in the Bible:
“What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance” (Luke 15:4-7).
The story illustrates in a very beautiful way the Lord Jesus as the Good Shepherd, seeking the lost sheep and bringing it safely home to the Father’s house. Are you one of the found sheep? If you have received the Lord Jesus as your Savior, you are indeed one of the sheep that was found. If not you are still lost, and the Shepherd is seeking you today.
