Anti-Aging Power – Part 3
“I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the Word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one” (1 John 2:14).
We spend a great deal of energy and discipline trying to keep in good shape physically, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that, but do we spend as much time exercising in the things of God? This is why we often become spiritually weak and sickly Christians. Just as we become weak and hasten the aging process by lack of natural exercise, so it is with the spiritual. May the Lord give us the desire and motivation that is needed to “renewourstrength” day by day.
At 85 years of age, Caleb could state: “As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: As my strength was then, even so is my strength now” (Joshua 14:11). It is wonderful to meet an elderly believer who is still strong in the Word of God and in the path of faith. We also read of Moses at, “an hundred and twenty years old his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated (Deuteronomy 34:7).
