From the HeartPart 3

Is our first thought in everything we do, to do it for His glory? And not to do it just, “from the heart,” but, in singleness of heart.” No other motive, no other object but HIMSELF!

Here is a similar quotation to the verse we have been considering in Ephesians 6, from the book of Colossians:

“Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God” (Colossians 3:22).

Now carefully notice the next verse:

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” (verse 23).

The result is in the following verse:

“Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ” (verse 24).

Let’s ask ourselves, how much is this really true in our day-to-day life? What really motivates us? The Apostle Paul expressed his motive in following the Lord when he said, “Wherefore we labor, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him” (2 Corinthians 5:9).
