The Gospel presents to us… A perfect work! “I have glorified Thee on the earth: I have finished the work which Thou gavest Me to do” (John 17:4). By a perfect person! “Jesus said, Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him” (John 13:31). To give us a perfect standing! “If God be glorified in Him, God shall also glorify Him in Himself, and shall straightway glorify Him” (John 13:32). As loved with a perfect love! “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear” (1 John 4:18). To bring us to a perfect day! “For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away” (1 Corinthians 13:10).
