Dear Young Christian,
Daniel O’Donnell is a well know Irish singer of both secular and Christian songs. As I waited for my wife to get up this morning so we could have breakfast together, I listened to one of those songs entitled “If Jesus Comes Tomorrow?” I had listened to it before, but perhaps thought little about it. What went through my mind this time was, Shouldn’t it be “If Jesus comes TODAY?”
This hope of the Lord’s coming is to be such a reality that we should be looking for it TODAY, right now! As we go about daily life we should be thinking and living like those who are ready to take the next step from earth to the Father’s house. It is good for us to look up from time to time and quote the last prayer and recorded words of believers in the Bible: “Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20). This hope is in no way an uncertain hope like the hopes of this life. “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast” (Hebrews 6:19). Perhaps TODAY!
