“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!” (Romans 11:33).
When I went to university, I had many discussions with my classmates about the things of the Lord. One of them told me that he wanted to study the whole subject of God, and eventually arrive at a conclusion that satisfied him. I read this verse to him, and told him that all the studying he could do would never find out all about God. God must reveal Himself, and He has done this through His Word, and through His Son Jesus Christ. It is impossible to know about God unless He chooses to tell us about Himself. How wonderful it is that He has done so!
God wanted to have a relationship with us, His creatures, and sent His Son to reveal Him. Then the Lord Jesus went to the cross and died for us so that we could be brought back into a relationship with God. Before sin came into this world, man had a relationship with God, but sin spoiled it all. Now we can know God in a way that we never knew Him before.
