“When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom” (Proverbs 11:2).
Today we have another verse about pride, and how it eventually brings shame. Why does pride bring shame? Shame comes because a proud person does not want to admit that he/she is wrong. But no matter who we are, sometimes we are wrong. Then, when we are not willing to admit our wrong and apologize, we bring shame on ourselves. Maybe we have been boasting about ourselves and our knowledge, but then someone comes along who knows more than we do, and we are shamed in front of them.
It is much better to be humble, and to realize that none of us knows everything. When we are always ready to learn from others, we get wisdom, as our verse says.
