23And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four columns, he cut it with the scribe's knife, and cast it into the fire that was in the pan until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was in the pan.
28Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.

32And Jeremiah took another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Nerijah; and he wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah, all the words of the book that Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and there were added besides unto them many like words.

Elijah the prophet. If the account of the translation of Elijah be given in the order in which it happened, then it occurred in the reign of Jehoshaphat, the father of Jehoram.
Hence, it is probable that he wrote it before his assumption, and left it to be delivered by Elisha or one of the prophets.

Elijah had watched the first acts of this reign of violence and had written against the king. This writing, preserved after the prophet's rapture, gets to Jehoram. (Jehoram: 2 Chronicles 21 by H.L. Rossier)
{v.12-15} The three facts enumerated by Elijah to justify God's judgment are: abandoning Jehovah, corruption, and violence — all that characterizes man's sin on account of which God had once destroyed the world by the flood. (Jehoram: 2 Chronicles 21 by H.L. Rossier)
Jehoram had chosen "the way of the kings of Israel"; he is condemned by a prophet of Israel, the only public witness who remained in the midst of the idolatry of the ten tribes and their king. (Jehoram: 2 Chronicles 21 by H.L. Rossier)
