One Edd. omits all after the second "Martha" as far as "and," others as far as "for," still other contains "thou art troubled." The words reproduced are sustained by the mass of authority recognized by some Edd.; but there is a question as to "There is need of one," which is the reading of several MSS. Other Edd. adopt "Few things are needful or one." The word "and" is in some MSS. but most Edd. have "for."
