26John answered them saying, I baptize with water: in the midst of you standeth, whom ye know not,
27he who cometh after me, of whom I am not worthy to unloose the thong of his sandal.
28These things took place in Bethany, across the Jordan where John was baptizing.
29On the morrow he seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world!
30This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man who is become before me, for he was before me.
31And I knew him not, but that he might be manifested to Israel, therefore came I baptizing with water.
32And John bore witness, saying, I have beheld the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and it abode upon him.

27John answered and said, A man can receive nothing unless it have been given him from heaven.
28Ye yourselves bear me witness that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
29He that hath the bride is [the] bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom that standeth and heareth him rejoiceth with joy because of the voice of the bridegroom: this my joy then is fulfilled.
30He must increase, but I decrease.
31He that cometh from above is above all. He that is of the earth is of the earth, and speaketh [as] of the earth; he that cometh of the heaven is above all,

33He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true;
34for he whom God sent speaketh the words of God; for God giveth not the Spirit by measure.
35The Father loveth the Son and hath put all things in his hand.
36He that believeth on the Son hath life eternal, and he that believeth not on the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.
