"Desolation" is an active word, "causing desolation," "desolating," not an accomplished state. see Matt. 24.15; Dan. 9.27.
c
"Weigh with intelligence so as to understand," "perceive." see ch. 8.17, "perceive," and Rom. 1.20.

But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, standing where ita ought not (he that reads, let him consider), then let those in Judea flee to the mountains,

a
There is an interesting dubious reading, "standing where he ought not." If the masculine be well founded, it points to the Antichrist, the lawless one of {vi 29666}{/vi}.
