To the chief musician, [a Psalm] of David.{HR}In Jehovah have I trusted:{HR}How say ye to my soul,{HR}Flee to your mountain [as] a bird?
For, lo, the wicked bend the bow;{HR}They have fixed their arrows upon the string{HR}To shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
For the foundations are broken down.{HR}What hath the righteous [man] done?
Jehovah [is] in the temple of his holiness;{HR}Jehovah, his throne is in the heavens;{HR}His eyes behold, his eyelids prove, the sons of men.
Jehovah proveth the righteous [man];{HR}And the wicked [man]{HR}And him who loveth violence his soul hateth.
He will rain upon the wicked snares, fire and brimstone{HR}And a burning tempest—the portion of their cup.
For righteous [is] Jehovah; he loveth righteousness;{HR}His face beholdeth the upright.
