To the chief musician upon Sheminith, a Psalm of David.{HR}Save, O Jehovah, for the godly [man] hath ceased,{HR}For the faithful have failed from the sons of men.
They speak falsehood, every one with his neighbour;{HR}[With] a flattering lip, with a double heart do they speak.
Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips,{HR}[The] tongue speaking great things.
Which have said, With our tongue will we be mighty;{HR}Our lips are our own: who is lord to us?
Because of the oppression of the afflicted,{HR}Because of the groaning of the needy,{HR}Now will I arise, saith Jehovah;{HR}I will place in safety [from] him that puffeth at him.
The words of Jehovah [are] pure words,{HR}Silver refined in a crucible of earth, sevenfold purified.
Thou, O Jehovah, wilt keep them;{HR}Thou wilt preserve him from this generation forever.
The wicked walk round about when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.
