An instruction of David when he was in the cave: a prayer.{HR}[With] my voice to Jehovah I cry;{HR}[With] my voice to Jehovah I make supplication.
I pour out in his presence my plaint;{HR}My distress in his presence show.
When my spirit was overwhelmed within me,{HR}Thou knewest my path;{HR}In the way that I go they hid a snare for me.
Look on the right hand and see:{HR}There is none that knoweth me:{HR}Refuge hath failed me;{HR}There is none caring for my soul.
I cried unto thee, Jehovah; I said,{HR}Thou [art] my refuge,{HR}My portion in the land of the living.
Attend to my cry, for I am brought very low;{HR}Deliver me from my persecutors,{HR}For they are stronger than I.
Bring my soul out of prison that I may give thanks to thy name:{HR}The righteous shall compass me round,{HR}For thou dealest bountifully with me.
